Mimi and Popi visit

Last week my Mimi and Popi came up from Alabama to visit me (Well, they came to see my mommy and daddy too, but mostly just to see me...haha. Just Kidding, it was my mom's birthday so they came up for that, too!)
While Mimi and Popi were here we went out to eat, went shopping at the Westchester, watched the Olympics, hung out at our house, walked around our town,  and on Saturday we took a tour of West Point. It is only about 40 minutes north of where we live, and Popi really wanted to see it. We took a tour of the campus and got to see some really cool buildings. My favorite part was when we would get off the bus and I could do some more walking. I like to stay in constant motion.
Daddy was behind the camera, so he didn't get in hardly any pictures.
I made it to two out of the three dinners, but on Saturday night Uncle Dave and Aunt Annie stayed with me while Mimi and Popi took mom and dad out for mom's birthday. These were some flowers down by the Red Hat Restaurant on the Hudson river where we ate on Friday night.

Reading my Brown Bear Book

On the way home, I decided to read my mom and dad one of my favorite books, Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you See? by Eric Carle. We were in the car on the way home , so mom apologizes for all of the bouncing and dark spots.

Reading Magazines with Mommy

Lukie climbed up on the couch and enjoyed "reading" some magazines with me the other day. It really looks like he is reading---maybe he is?

Silly Kitty!

This morning I saw the most hilarious thing.... Leo, one of our cats, decided to play his favorite game, which is chase the flashlight. I had never seen him play this game and when I saw what he was doing I thought it was the funniest thing I had ever seen. Silly kitty!

Another Cheap Toy....

This afternoon, I had some fun with the coolest and cheapest toy yet. I got my hands on one of Mom's dish towels and it proved to give me much enjoyment. This video is kinda long, but Mom just couldn't stop taping!

Botanical Gardens

On Saturday, we went to the Botanical Gardens in the Bronx with our friends and former neighbors, the Russell's. Their son and my friend, Connor, turns one this month. The conservatory was really cool. We are not that into plants (especially since my mommy has NO green thumb and finally succeeded in killing her mother's day flower- see post in May), but the grounds were beautiful. Daddy was only in two pictures today since he was the photographer and in ONLY these two pictures there was this little orb with a cross inside??? Was it his guardian angel?
Check out my buddy's cool hair- it matches his shirt! AND we have the same stroller.

Enough with all this plant stuff, let's play in the water!!!
There was a momma duck and 5 or 6 baby ducks swimming in the lilly pad pond. I wanted to jump in and swim with them, but my mom and dad wouldn't let me.

"So Connor, how's life treatin' ya up in Connecticut? Hey, since you and your momma and daddy are such huge Jets fans, what do you think about the Jets recruiting Brett Favre?"

Check our the deer family crossing the road on our way home. The deer are EVERYwhere, especially at dusk. They are so cute and I never get used to seeing them just out and about in the neighborhood.

"Bye"

We finally got it on video...Luke waving and saying "bye." I know that everyone says this, but I really am LOVING this stage. Luke is walking and finally talking, but he truly is such a joy to be around! He laughs with us AND at us, dances to music, copy's what we do, claps for ANYthing, and generally keeps us in stitches with his funny little personality. We are having SO much fun!!!

Scrapbook Pages

Mom has been working like crazy to get "caught up" on her scrapbooking and she actually is up to date, which makes her very happy. She is actually thinking about trying to make some head way on some heritage pages, but that is a HUGE undertaking, so that hasn't happened yet. Anyway, here are a few pages that she has done over the past couple of weeks. The first one is the montage of me with Fred the Duck every month of my first year.
"A Tree Grows in Georgia"  While down in GA this past March, Papaw, Daddy and I planted a red leaf maple in Mamaw and Papaw's front yard in honor of me :)
"R&R"  A couple of pages of our time at the Cape with the Hills and Metcalfes
"Water Baby '08"  Some pics of me in the water this summer.
