Happy Halloween 2009!

I decided to be a glow in the dark skeleton for Halloween this year...

I had fun helping Daddy carve the pumpkin and I got to pick out the pattern for our pumpkin this year....
in case you can't tell....it's a bat!
We went to Miss Curry's (a friend of Mimi's) house/ neighborhood for trick or treating since it has a lot of people we know, and it's huge, and there are side walks. This was my very first time saying "Trick or Treat" for actual candy. I have been practicing all week and Miss Curry was so sweet. Mimi stayed with Miss Curry while Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Liz and Uncle Kyle walked with me through the neighborhood to get CANDY!
This is also the neighborhood where Great Aunt Janet and Great Uncle Jeff live! They were expecting me and they had me a sweet bag of goodies filled with a book, some stuffed toys, cookies, and a turtle that you soak in water and it grows by 600%! It was great to see them and then it was back on the candy hunt.
I enjoyed getting to say Trick or Treat, but some of the houses had buckets sitting out and I got to pick out candy to put in my pumpkin bag. However, I never quite caught on that I could only get ONE piece out of each bucket. I thought I could keep getting handfulls and handfulls. Luckily, either Mommy or Daddy was close by to keep me in check.

I was such a big boy and we had to empty out my pumpkin bag into another one because it got too heavy for me to carry at one point!

Luckily, we took our wagon because by the end of the night, I was happy to climb right in and enjoy one of my FAVORITE pieces of candy: a lollipop!

Mmmm....check out my stash! If Mom and Dad would have let me, I would have eaten all of my candy right then and there. Since I have a crazy sweet tooth, I have to say that Halloween is AWESOME! I can't wait to eat more CANDY tomorrow!

I love trains!

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE trains?....well, I DO! They are my very favorite toy and since Papaw knows this, He decided to bring me his old electric Chattanooga Choo Choo.
Daddy set it up for me and it was LOVE at first site. I thought it was so cool how it ran on the track all by itself. I even got to show it to Aunt Liz and Uncle Paddy!
It took me a while to understand that this wasn't the kind of train that can be played with and it was more for show. My favorite part was getting to push the button on the box to make the choo choo sound. After playing with it for a while, Daddy decided that we needed to put it up for a few years until I am older.... But not before I could push the choo choo button about a million times.

Trick or Treat @ the Library

Today was dress up day at the Library and after story hour we got to Trick or Treat throughout the Library! I had three "costumes" to choose from a skeleton, super man, and my turkey from last year. As you can see, I chose to be super man today, but who knows what I will choose on Halloween.
Just a quick check over my shoulder to make sure Mommy was coming with me...
The front desk gave out spider rings.....
Then we got to go upstairs to see what else we could find......
Hooray stickers!.....
And the next stop had book marks!....

And finally, they gave out honey teddy grams at the children's desk. I think I am getting the hang of this Halloween thing! I can't wait to do this again! You mean I have to wait until Saturday?.....C'mon weekend!!! TRICK OR TREAT!!!

Happy Birthday Mae Mae

Today was my Mae Mae's (aka. Great Grandmother Marion) 79th birthday, so we took her out to lunch after I got out of school. Aunt Liz got to come, too! So, it was just the girls and I. I was a really good boy and since Daddy had the day off, he came and got me after I ate my hot dog so I could get my nap and the girls could finish the rest of their lunch in peace and quiet.
Happy Birthday Mae Mae! I love you and I am so happy that you like coming over to play with me! Can't wait to do it again this Friday!

Whirlwind Weekend in ATL

Mommy had a head and neck cancer course to go to this weekend in Atlanta and since ATL is not that far from Mamaw and Papaw, they decided to come and keep Daddy and me company this weekend. We decided to go to the Pumpkin Festival at Stone Mountain on Saturday. I loved seeing the "big mountain" as I called it.

It was so much fun wall climbing with Mamaw and tree climbing with Papaw.
On Saturday night after Mommy was done with her course for the day and after we all held our breaths until the final seconds of the TN-AL game, we headed back to the "big mountain" to watch the laser show. I didn't care for it that much because we were right by the speakers and it was WAY too loud.
On Sunday, after Mommy was finally all done with her course, we headed to IKEA to pick up a few things and then it was on to the Varsity (one of Daddy's favs) for dinner before heading back to Mobile. Papaw prided himself on teaching me a new phrase this weekend: "Go Vols!" All Mommy could do was shake her head and say "No.... Say Roll Tide!" and Luke would immediately say "GO VOLS!" Thanks, Papaw!

It was a fun weekend, but I sure am glad Mommy and I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow :)

Thursday Randoms....

Check out the sweet Pumpkin hat I made today at school!!! I LOVE wearing it. It was the first thing I asked for after my nap!
There's nothing like kicking back with a cold glass of milk and watching my ABC Dr. Seuss 'Read to Me' book on the lap top!
"Heh woa" aka "hello!" I LOVE talking on the phone even if there isn't anyone else on the other line. Happy early weekend everyone!

The pumpkin patch!

I had such a great time at the pumpkin patch this year! There was so much to do and see that it was extremely hard for me to stay still long enough to take pictures. Thankfully, Mom and Dad had their D60 so they could snap the pictures fast.

They managed to get a family shot after about a thousand tries. You should see some of the pictures that didn't make the cut!
So many pumpkins.....such little time :) Which one should I chose?
Hmmm.....Let me sit down a while and decide....

It's finally hoodie weather!!!!....

Hooray! It's FINALLY cooled down! Our buddies in NY/NJ are getting snow and we have been wanting some of that cooler weather to make it's way south and today was the first hint of cooler weather this fall. It barely made it up to 70 degrees and was SUCH a nice change from our almost 90 degree weather we had just a few days ago. Mom found this dinosaur hoodie she got me last year at the Crazy 8 store in Jersey for $3.98! ROAR!!!
Some of my favorite phrases right now are questions. One of the two that I say constantly throughout the day are "Where?"
Typical conversation:
Me: We are going to the grocery store.
Luke: WHERE?
Me: the Bruno's up the street.
Luke: WHERE?
Me: the one on old shell road.
Luke: WHERE mommy?
Me: Let's get in the car and I'll show you!
Luke: OK mommy!
The other question I love to ask is "What r u doin'?" I will ask this to anyone or anything! I love to ask Mommy, Mimi, or Daddy and I especially like to ask this question to the check out people when we are out shopping. This is also one of the first questions I will ask you if I talk to you on the phone. I will also as this question to inanimate objects. For example:
Luke: Hello Bear Bear! What r u doin'? or Hi Big Bird! What r u doin'? and Mommy's personal favorite was from tonight... We were sitting in the drive up line at the oh so healthy McDonald's and Luke yelled out "M" and sure enough there was the McDonald's arches on a post out side of the restaurant and Luke looked right at it and said "Hello M! What r u doin'? It had Mommy and Daddy cracking up!
This is my "Say Cheese" face. Happy weekend everyone!

What's old is new again.....

Today Mimi and Mommy went "shopping" in Mimi and Doc's attic and found all sorts of toys that Uncle Paddy used to play with when he was a little boy. One of my favorites was this Little Tykes race car track! This is one of the reasons that I love that Mimi saves EVERY thing! It does have its perks....check out my "old-new" toy.

Has Halloween come early?!?!....

This has got to be one of the weirdest phenomenon's I have ever seen. A few days ago, my grandmother Betty sent an e-mail saying to try standing our broom sticks up. I tried to stand the little black one up and it worked. I looked at our other two and thought NO WAY will the others do it b/c one has frayed straw bristles that are uneven and the other one's bristles are too flimsy, so why even try? Well, lo and behold, as you can see even THOSE two stood straight up.

Try it out at your houses and let me know if it works! Is this some weird planetary alignment, a spooky Halloween ghost, or have brooms always had this ability, and we are only just now finding out about it?

Halloween Mini-book

I saw this idea on one of the many scrapbooking blogs I surf and decided to re-create it with my own twist! It was so easy and fun to create and it is something I will add to each year!
