Story Hour

Wednesday mornings, Mommy and I go to the downtown library for their story hour. It is so much fun because we sing songs, tell nursery rhymes, read books, play with puppets, and make crafts. Miss Val is so sweet and tries to keep it together with all of us crazy 2 years olds. Today the theme was rain and I made an umbrella book mark!
After story hour, I get to pick out some books to check out of the library. Today I picked out a book about tug boats! I love our trips to the library!

T-town two weeks in a row....

Last weekend I went up to Tuscaloosa on Friday night with Mimi, Mommy, and Daddy. We got to eat at the Waysider before the 11:20am game and I only lasted a couple of quarters because I still wasn't feeling my best. It was a quick trip up and probably my only game of the season. Too bad I couldn't really enjoy it :)
On Saturday, Mom, Dad, Aunt Liz and Uncle Kyle left before I woke up to watch the AL-Arkansas game. They got to do some tailgating before the game and got to enjoy the entire game this weekend. I happily played with Mimi and decorated her house for Halloween. It was a great day for everyone!

As soon as I saw them in the box, my face lit up like it was Christmas Morning! Thanks for all of our goodies. I tried to send a heartfelt video, but I was too distracted by my lollies! Thanks again!!!

And the verdict is......

SWINE FLU!!!
Yep, you heard it first here (maybe not exactly first here since my husband decided to make the announcement on facebook a few hours ago, so now hundreds of people know!).... Anyway.... my poor little baby has duh, duh, duh.... the swine flu. Ugh, I hate saying it, I hate writing it, and I hate blogging it, but most of all I hate that he has it! It just sounds bad and dirty and just NOT something my little boy should have, but we went to the doctor today and based on his symptoms and a few quick tests, it was confirmed :( If he doesn't look that bad in the picture above it's because he didn't have a fever at this point in the day and when he doesn't have a fever he acts like his normal wild and crazy self, well, maybe taken down just a notch or two.

He was the BEST patient ever today! He interacted with our new pediatrician and let him do all of the tests without fuss. Even Dr. Hall said he did extremely well for "a two year old." Then came time for the blood sample and again the nurse pricked his finger and he didn't even wimper. He just watched what she was doing and then made sure he got a band aid for his boo boo. She said that his disposition had made her day! I think the reason he did so well is because I explained step by step what the doctor and nurse were going to do, i.e., first he's going to knock on the door, then he's going to look in your ears, and eyes ,and mouth, etc. The symptoms that gave it away that it was, in fact, swine flu were the cough, sore throat, and most of all, a fever of 102-104. The good news is that it should be over in 3-5 days. Since he is already on day 3, the doctor didn't put him on the flu medicine. We are just going to keep the fever down with Tylenol, and Motrin, and he prescribed some medicine for the cough.
Hopefully, by Thursday, we will have our healthy little boy back!

Poor little sick baby!...

We've got a sick little one on our hands and he is SO pitiful! He was totally fine yesterday at church and happily played in the nursery, but at around 2-3pm, he started looking not himself and by 4pm the above was what he looked like. Symptoms: 102.6 degree fever, croupie sounding cough, sore throat. He had a rough night and came to bed with us around 1am and then around 6am started asking to watch TV and was swiftly put back in his bed and thankfully slept until 9am (I needed to catch a few hours of sleep b/c with him in the bed I was forced to sleep on about 6 inches of mattress.) When he got up this morning, he still had a slight fever, but other than that he was running around being his normal self and getting into everything and playing with his trains. I called the doctor and they said he could come in, but it was my call. He was acting fine, so I didn't take him.

Um...maybe I should have taken him....After dinner, we decided to take his temp under the arm and got 103.4 (add 1 b/c it was under the arm= 104.4) surely not. So, we took it rectally--yes, I know we need an ear thermometer, but we have had such a healthy boy, we haven't needed one-- note to self: buy ear thermometer tomorrow!! and got 104.6 (we won't be doing that again. The under the arm way is accurate enough for me!)

Moving on...we gave him motrin and a luke warm bath and yes, we will be going to the MD tomorrow.....hopefully, it's not the swine flu.....

Game Day Fun!

Alabama sippy cup full of chocolate milk....check!
Shaker....check!
Big Al....check!
Now when does the game start???.....Not until 6pm! I gotta find something to do since it's raining outside....
"Wheee! Upside down!" "Fun!"
The upside down thing looked like so much fun, Mimi, Aunt Liz and Mommy decided to give it a try. They looked silly!
The game started finally and I wanted to eat in the den with everyone else. I guess I will have to grow into these TV trays. (Sorry for the quality of these last two pics. They were taken with our old camera b/c our regular D60 lens is in the shop! Mom can't wait to get it back!)
Yea! Doc got home just after the game started. I ran over and we played the higher game. He throws me up and I say "HIGHER, HIGHER!" As soon as he puts me down I say "AGAIN!" Have a great Roll Tide weekend everyone!

A Surprise Video

When I got up from my nap, I had an e-mail waiting for me.... My Titi (Annie, our neighbor in NY) and Katie left me a video about their snowman wreath that I used to LOVE. It was so much fun "seeing" them again. I enjoyed it so much, I literally watched the video 20 times in a row. I learned how to hit the replay button, so I could re-start it any time I wanted. After the ump-teenth time of watching it, I all of the sudden pulled the computer screen up to my face and starting giving Titi and Katie kisses. Mom thought it was the cutest thing EVER, but it made her kinda sad at the same time b/c we miss our friends terrribly! I still love my NY peeps and hope we get to video chat this weekend!

Roll Tide!

Whooo Hoooo! It's football time again!!! Check it out.....I am finally big enough to wear my Alabama jersey that I got from Santa last year.
I love to say ROLL TIDE and every time I see an "A" I say ALABAMA!!! I can even do the Ala-Bama. Cheer.... ALA.....BAMA.....ALA......BAMA! And what's a game without a shaker?
We didn't make it up to the game since it was in Atlanta, so we had our own Alabama party at Mimi and Doc's house (they were at the game). Uncle Kyle brought his big screen to the house so we could watch the game in HD. We had the AL game on his tv and the other one had what ever other game was playing. It was almost like being at the ESPN zone in NY, except since we were at the house I got to run around and play with my trains any time I wanted! Let the games begin! We LOVE football!!! Roll Tide Roll!
