Just Kicking around...

Jeremy was finally able to feel the baby move this past Sunday morning! I felt the first twinge on Christmas eve, but I have really felt the baby moving recently. In fact, on Saturday night during dinner, it felt like he was doing back flips! I was eating spicy food, so I don't know if that meant that he really liked it or really didn't like it!!! Haha!

Making Room for Baby

See the before and after pics of our bookcase clean out. Last weekend, Jeremy and I were both in serious clean out mode. We have been brainstorming on what to do about how to make room for the baby in our tiny little apartment. We found the best bookcase for our needs at Ikea- (one of the best stores on Earth). It actually holds my 12X12 scrapbooks and all of the baskets on the bottom row are for future baby toys! As you can see the place was a wreck, but now everything is back in place (for the moment). Now where to put the baby bed?.......

It's a BOY!!!!!!

Today was the BIG day! We were going to find out what we were having. I had been saying for a few weeks that I thought it was a boy, but just recently Jeremy was insisting we were having a girl. It was so exciting getting to just see the baby again. We hadn't seen him since week 12. He was moving all around, stretching his arms and putting his hand in his mouth! It is SO amazing to see this little 11 ounce miracle on the screen. The tech, Lisa, took all of the measurements, like 4 chambers of the heart, kidneys, liver, hands, feet and head while we got the watch. She put an image up on the screen and said here is one leg and here is the other...'what do you think it is?' I immediately saw "it" and said "It's a BOY!" Lisa said You're Right! Even though I thought it might be a boy, Jeremy and I were almost speechless. I know the ultrasound pics are fuzzy but you can get the idea. Jeremy's picture is the "money" shot as Lisa put it. It is the one that is taken between the legs and a view our our little boy's manhood. Jeremy couldn't be more proud!

Fun T-Shirts

These are our new T-shirts from Christmas. Mom bought me the "We're Hungry" shirt b/c I am ALWAYS hungry. I am ready for my next meal, snack, or snack between snacks! We were at the maternity clothes store and saw the "Man behind the Belly" shirt and had to get 'daddy' a shirt since he is the proud poppa!

Another Christmas Pic

Not really baby related... just a happy couple at Christmas!

Christmas 2006

Next year there will be one more person in our family Christmas picture!

Bump 16 weeks

Jeremy took this pic of me after our 16 week check up. As you can see, the baby bump is a little bigger, but I still had on my regular jeans. I was just closing them with a hair band. The following is an excerpt from my pregnancy journal: 16 weeks, 4 days: What a difference a week makes!!! Last night at our neighbors Christmas party, my pants (skinny jeans) were annoying me. When we got home, my belly button was hurting and I thing the button on my jeans made a little cut b/c my pants were SO tight. Lately, I haven’t wanted anything tight on my stomach. Mom said that she remembers feeling the same way and that it must be some sort of a protective mechanism. So I went back to Kohl’s to get some comfortable pants. The elastic waist pants that I thought were too silly last week are my new best friend this week. When I put them on in the dressing room, my belly relaxed and was saying thank you! I can’t wait to get some more elastic waist pants! Maybe there really is something in there!!! : )

Bump 12 weeks

This pic was taken by Christy, one of my sister-in-law's, at Thanksgiving by at 12 weeks. I was still wearing my seven's and all of my regular clothes. If you didn't know I was pregnant, you probably wouldn't have noticed.

Cravings!!!

All I really want to eat are chips---of any kind or variety. One night I was eating Dorito's and Jeremy looked over and said "You look possessed." And I replied, "I AM possessed. I can't stop myself." Oh well, I am trying eat well, but I have to get my daily dose of chips. I am hoping some of those apples I have been eating will counter balence all of these chips : )

Week 12

Here is the second pic of Baby Payne taken at 12 weeks. We had an NT test, which you can see the measurement that was taken toward the bottom of the screen. Everything was within normal limits and I was relieved. I know that all of the blood work and measurements are just precautionary, but it still makes me nervous. I was happy to get another glowing report!

Hello!

Hi family and friends! This is a site designed to give you up to the moment details on the life of the Payne's up here in New York. Of course, our newest little addition is what prompted this blog site. Where to start.... Here is the first picture of our baby, taken at 8 weeks. The following is an excerpt from my pregnancy journal at 8 weeks, 2 days: We are so excited and now that we have seen the pictures it really seems real now! I am doing fine--- I have been extremely tired and sleeping and napping a lot these past few weeks and I have been a little nauseous, esp when I wait to long to eat, but I have technically not been "sick" yet. As long as I eat about every two hours and take a nap in the afternoon, I feel good. Jeremy is doing great and he is telling any one who will listen--even our waiters/waitresses : )
