Sesame Place Day 2

We started our second day at Sesame Place at the Elmo breakfast with some of the characters. It was buffet style and Lukie loved dipping his waffle sticks in his syrup.
Our weekend vacation at the park overlapped with the Hill's vacation by one day, so we got to spend most of Saturday with them! We went straight for the water rides after breakfast and both Luke and Morganne loved the small water slide, but not the bigger one.
"I think I figured out how to gets these things off!.... Want me to show ya?"
After drying out a little bit, we headed to the Big Bird beach show and as soon as Morganne saw the characters, she started crying and was NOT having it, but we wanted to stay because Jeremy Hill got picked to be a part of the show. He is the first guy in the grass skirt. Eventually, Morganne calmed down and fell asleep in Steph's arms (poor baby didn't like the characters and was getting over an ear infection). We were all dying laughing at Jeremy trying to hula dance :)
After saying goodbye to the Hill's, we did a few laps on the lazy river, which Luke LOVED! He rode once with me and once with Jeremy. (we couldn't all ride together, b/c someone had to stay with all our stuff!) All in all, it was a great weekend and I think Luke really liked his birthday getaway to Sesame Place!

Luke and the Sesame Place Characters!

Luke absolutely adored the Sesame Place characters. He would run right up to them and give them HUGE hugs and then turn right around and look at us and say "CHEESE." Whenever he saw one of them he would get the cutest/ happiest look on his face. When he saw Elmo he ran straight for him yelling "ELMO, ELMO!" His favorites were Elmo, Abby Cadaby, and Big Bird, but I have to say he loved them all!

Sesame Place Day 1

This weekend we spent 2 days at Sesame Place, a Sesame Street themed amusement/water park in Pennsylvania. It only took us about 2 hours to get there and we were there by 11am on Friday. It was a beautiful and thankfully hot day! We rode some of the dry rides first and then it was on to the water rides....
Even though it was warm today, the water was pretty cold, but once we got used to it, it was fun! I was shocked that Luke LOVED the water rides. He would hop right in the tube and yell "wheee" all the way down! He rode multiple times with Jeremy and me!
He didn't really care for the newest attraction, Count's Castle, because there were too many splashy machines. He liked the calm kiddie pool with the bubble machines much better!
He also enjoyed watching the Live shows and the parade at the end of the day! He was mesmerized by the characters and loved watching them dance and sing!

Flashback Friday!

Here is Jeremy playing guitar around Luke's age (not sure if he is 2 or 3 in this picture) and Luke at 2! Do you see any resemblance?

Go Yankee's!!!

To celebrate Jeremy's last final (Tuesday) and my last day of work (yesterday-Wednesday), we decided to go to a Yankees game in the new stadium! It was a gorgeous day and we headed straight there after I left Burke for the last time! We bought our tickets on Stub Hub a few weeks ago when the Yankees weren't doing to hot and got in the bleacher section for only $11.99/ ticket! When the Yankees started winning again we were so happy to have gotten such a great deal.
We didn't know it when we bought our tickets, but the first 18,000 fans in the stadium got a FREE  baseball hat! Bonus! I have to say I was a little skeptical about the new stadium b/c of all the history in the other one and why mess with a good thing?, but after seeing it, I was blown away. The way the new stadium is set up and the way it is so user friendly is awesome.
We were walking by and got to see A-Rod up close and personal!  He was actually walking around in the stands meeting fans.
Here is the view from our seats! We were totally hoping to catch a ball and even though there were 3 home run balls in a row none came close! We had Luke's booster seat which worked wonders again for the game and he and I lasted the ENTIRE game! We couldn't believe it. He was a true fan and at one point started clapping and saying "YES, YES, YES!" All of the fans sitting next to us were loving it! It was another interesting game and a guy wearing a Met shirt got totally boo'ed out of our section and escourted out by the police. I won't write what most of the fans in our section were chanting, but needless to say I was putting "ear muffs" over Luke's ears! Gotta love the Yankees!!!

Happy 2 me!!!

I can't believe that our little "baby" was 2 yesterday! We decided to have a simple party in the park with some of Luke's and our closest friends! Since Lukie LOVES to point out and see/say BUS that was the theme of his party and boy was it a hard theme to pull off. The sheet cake part of his cake was made by Stew Leonard's about 30 minutes before the party started (that is a whole other story and I won't go into details now- but long story short, they lost our order and when Jeremy went to pick it up they didn't have our cake. I went into serious Freak out mode, but it all ended up working out- see cake above! :)  The BUS part of the cake Jeremy and I made and added to the sheet part of the cake about 10 minutes before the party started. I think it turned out so cute and Luke actually called it a bus, so I guess it does resemble a bus if a 2 year old can identify it :)
They were calling for rain on Saturday, so we practically had the park to ourselves! We were so glad the rain held off.

Check out the 3 muskateers: Connor, Morganne, & Luke. Aren't the red heads precious!!!
Mmmmm.....pizza in the park! The hardest part was getting Luke to stay put, he kept getting up and probably only had 3 or 4 bites of pizza.
Happy Birthday Dear Luke, Happy Birthday to You! Since the candle was so high up, Luke had to lean way over to blow it out and as he was trying to blow, a HUGE thing of drool fell right on to the cake! It was classic and I had to cut the cake around the drool!

Check out how the icing matches his shirt perfectly!
I guess one piece to cake wasn't enough..... Luke was stealing a bite of Connor's cake!
The entertainment for the party....watching the train whiz by.....and the best part..... it was FREE....There were 8 kids (including Luke)  invited to the party. Here are all of the "big" kids at the party (well the backs of them at least): Connor, Luke, Morganne, Olivia, Julia, and Izabella
And the babies: Braydon and Katie (with Dave and Annie)
Luke had such a wonderful day and we are so blessed to have made such great friends here in NY. I wish we could take all of them with us to Alabama! Thanks to everyone who came and helped us celebrate Luke's big day. A special thank you to Michelle who was our photographer for the day! Happy Day :)

2nd Birthday Preparations!

First thing this morning, Daddy and I got a much needed haircut!
Mommy made me birthday pancakes when we got home! I have 2 candles now!!!
Next I got to open up all of my presents from Mom and Dad. I got some really cool things, including tickets to a Yankees game, an overnight vacation at Sesame Place, a v-tech reader with 3 games, a cabbage patch doll named Hayward, World Word blocks , and some instruments! My favorite ones were the harmonica and the guitar. Now I can play just like Daddy :)
After I opened up Mommy and Daddy's gifts, I got to open up some packages that family had sent. GM sent me some shorts and a shirt and the package from Mamaw and Papaw and Christy was loaded with tons of more clothes. I had to put on my new sandals as soon as I saw them :) Mommy is especially happy that now I have some summer clothes! Tank You everyone for my gifts :)
After presents, Mom and Dad were working on a special surprise for my cake. I think it is looking a little bit like a BUS, but I guess I will have to wait until my party at the park. It looks like the weather is going to hold out! We are keeping our fingers crossed!
