The first ornament on our tree this year was a "stained glass" paper bell Luke made at story hour yesterday. He is always so proud of his art work and when I told him we could hang it on the tree his eyes lit up! He was so happy to see his ornament hanging on the tree.

Our Resident Comedian!
I don't know what possessed this kid to stick his hand down his outfit like this! I don't know if it was because of the end of the day and we were all tired, but as soon as he did it, Luke and I busted out laughing. And I'm talking, laugh til it hurts- tears in your eyes laughing---the BEST kind of laughing! And the more he did it, the more we laughed. I was so glad Jeremy was close by with the camera to catch his antics. It was such a great way to end a long day! I love this silly, quirky child of mine.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
The before...
The 9 foot tree got delivered late last night....
Decorating Mimi and Doc's tree was a joint effort this year! Paddy and Liz were over this afternoon and Mom and I had just so happened to pick up some new lights this year, so we decided to get the lights on the tree. Mimi decided to go retro this year and get the over sized colored lights.
Lukie got up from his nap just in time to help with a few strands.
Here he is "helping" his Daddy on the ladder.
The after:
I LOVE the colored lights and it actually took us NO time to get them on and we needed a lot less strands than the small white lights we have had the past few years. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

SEC Championship!!!
Since Mom and Dad had season tickets this year, they were able to put in a bid for 4 SEC championship tickets AND they GOT them!!! They asked us to go with them and we, of course, said YES!!! Grandmother Marion agreed to keep Luke overnight and we drove up and got to Atlanta at 1pm. The game started at 4pm, so we had plenty of time to grab a bite to eat and walk to the Georgia Dome. Walking to the stadium, they fans were relatively calm. Little did we know, the game would turn out how it did....
Alabama showed up to play and totally DOMINATED the ENTIRE game. Mom and I kept looking at each other in total disbelief b/c it seemed like EVERY thing went our way!
We are #1 and it's on to the National Championship in Pasadena, CA!!!

Oh, Christmas Tree....
Today Mimi, Mommy, and I went to Laura Kay's nursery to pick out a Christmas tree for Mimi and Doc's house. I wasn't really into it, but Mimi and Mommy found the perfect tree and it will be delivered on Monday morning!
The only thing that caught my attention was the man putting the stands on the bottom of the trees. I could have watched him for hours.

Decking the Halls!
We pulled out all the Christmas boxes at Mimi's house yesterday and started decking the halls!
We have jingle bells on all of the doors that lead to the outside! I love them and it's almost like having a built in alarm. There is no way to "sneak" into the house with these things on the doors!
Cute little stirs for yummy hot cinnamon milk!
Mimi has had this Advent calendar since I was little and Luke has enjoyed putting up the Nativity characters the past few days. We hung it in the kitchen at just his height. He also had a great time putting up Mimi and Doc's other Nativity scene. Thankfully, this set isn't breakable.
Since when did I become such a MOM! Haha!. Yes, I did it. I have a wreath on my car, like my Mom used to do. I have to say that it makes me happy, even if it makes me one of THOSE people.

Thanksgiving 2009
Mom and Dad had 16 family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner. It was such a great time to visit with family that we don't see often enough!
The before and after!
Luke's favorite part of that meal was hands down the chocolate turkey cake that his Great Aunt Karen brought from Birmingham. (He comes from a long line of choc-o-holics! At least he comes by it naturally!!!)
